Introducing the Squirtle Character Ball. Squirtle pops up from the familiar capture-ball silhouette here, with its rounded shell and curled tail extending beyond the 70 mm core to give the design its friendly, recognisable shape.

Squirtle is Pokédex entry #007, a Water type and the Water starter for Generation I. One of the original three starter choices, it is a compact blue turtle with a hard brown shell, a slightly curled tail and a determined expression. It hides in its shell when threatened, shooting jets of water from its mouth. The Squirtle Squad, a gang of sunglasses-wearing Squirtle from the anime, remains one of the most persistent Pokémon cultural references.
